Halloween's Past

Halloween 2007
We had a great Halloween in 2007. Everything was going great, Nat hadn't been in the hospital in a while and her counts had been stable since July. We were getting used to maintenance and loving being done with consolidation. Natalie's abdominal pain was was somewhat better, it wasn't unbearable ALL the time. Her periods of incapacitation from her pain were less frequent and she was starting to play more. Stephen's birth brought a lot of happiness into our family and Natalie was enjoying being a new big sissy.

Finally the awesome shot her Daddy wanted....
.....and off to get candy!

Halloween 2006
This was a hard year. We spent the holiday in the hospital. We had been in for almost eight weeks by that point, only broken up by the 5 or so days at home between hospitals. We were only weeks past diagnosis and the start of treatment and our little angel was struggling. It was very hard. We were able to take her trick-r-treating around the hospital and she cried the entire time. The steroids and feeling miserable were changing our little people person into someone that did not like to be around people. We finally got outside and she relaxed a little with just Mommy & Daddy. She unwrapped piece after piece of her candy and fed it to me. She wouldn't eat it...but that is not a surprise. I relished those moments of freedom from the hospital and I never wanted to go back inside.

Halloween 2005
Another really wonderful Halloween. My parents had recently moved to Tucson (only for a short while) and we were enjoying Natalie getting to spend time with her Grandparents. We all went to a pumpkin patch to pick pumpkins together. It was such a great time and I have wonderful memories of it. Natalie had just turned one two weeks before and wasn't walking yet. Natalie liked playing in all the corn...maybe that's where she learned to love corn. She did not try to put even one single, solitary piece of corn in her mouth. Imagine that, a one year old that doesn't put everything in their mouth. Not one single peice!! (The Colonel would be all over that...in his days I have taken carpet, bugs, stickers, trash, and a lot more out of his mouth).

Halloween 2004

Welcoming our new precious princess! Just two weeks old. Doesn't David look like a proud Daddy! How much more wonderful can it get? The birth of a first baby, our sweet little princess. It couldn't be more perfect. The Cousins (as Nat calls them) and my parents came to visit.
