There were four regular swim meets over the summer and then a regional swim meet. If the kids qualified at regions they could go to the State meet as well. The practice and meet schedule kept us busy all summer but it was fun and it really got the kids in shape. Sometimes Stephen got a little tired of it, but I was glad he was learning how to fulfill a commitment and work hard. They were super troopers all summer and I was SO proud of all their hard work. It was so nice that Stephen is finally big enough to swim too!! I missed the first swim meet of the summer because I had another commitment so I don't have any pictures. This first picture is the little hot dog stand lunch we got before their second meet. We had gone to the other side of town to return the tile removing jack hammer we rented and my quest to find a healthy lunch for them fell flat on its face and we ended up in a rush grabbing the least healthy food imaginable. Oh well....they still swam well!
Love these two!!!
Brian is NOT in love with sitting through a boring swim meet!
Grandma was able to come to this swim meet!!
It was in Southlake, a block from her house so she was able to walk over and she was able to keep Brian for the warm ups so he didn't have to stay as long. Such a treat to have Grandma there to cheer the kids on!!
Doing awesome!!!
Even swimming against bigger ten year olds Natalie did great!
Stephen was SO proud of earning ribbons!!
Our swim meet in Trophy Club at our home pool was the best one of the season. It was outdoors and fun to stretch and sit in our tents together. It was warm, but with lots of drinks and shade it was nice. The kids could play while they waited to swim and Brian was in heaven enjoying time with Grandma Burraston, who had just gotten into town a few days before.
Proud of their ribbons!
Stephen getting ready to swim!
