A Big First Grader...and Baseball

Last week sure was an exciting one with the first day of school!!  Natalie is SO excited to be a FIRST GRADER!!  She is in love with both of her teachers and excited to be back with her friends.  Even with a full week of school; somehow the party days of summer die hard.  Natalie still made it to two Rangers baseball games last week and even fit in an evening at the pool with the fam where we all enjoyed the sunset.

Stephen misses Natalie and has a hard time re-adjusting his sleep schedule to fall in line with school hours; but he is enjoying time with Mommy & Daddy.  We treated him to a lunch out with just the two of us and he loved that.  He is the most excited about starting his own music class!!!  Since Natalie was in the same class last year she is loving 'teaching' him and telling him what to expect.  They are too cute together.  Natalie also had her first day of music class--she will be starting to learn piano this year and is beyond excited.  She practices extra long because she loves it.  So exciting to be starting new adventures!

These blue sparkly school supplies were TOO perfect!  I didn't even pick out the pencil case- David got that showing his soft spot for his girl too.  By the way- Natalie was begging to take her lunch this year instead of buying it.  She was SO excited to pick out a lunch bag- I was surprised that she picked this cute owl one over a princess bag.  Love it.

Stephen having fun breaking out his sticker notebook.
 Too cute!
I just love to see what they do with their stickers... brings me back to tender memories....
 Just chillin'
My favorite part was how he was wiggling his toes to the beat of the piano music David was playing in the other room.
 His 'ear plugs'--really Natalie's necklace.
He thought it was pretty funny to stick the ends in his ears and pretend he couldn't hear me:o)

He found this worm outside and while he waited for me to get down his little critter cage, he trapped it in this random piece of metal to make sure it didn't get away.  The sad news is the poor worm was on death's door when he saw it (probably from the drought) and didn't make it long enough for me to get the cage down.  I had a hard time convincing him not to take a dead worm.  The other HUGE excitement of the week for Stephen was the two baby geckos we caught.

Thanks to Randy & Melissa for the tickets & company at the game.  I wasn't able to go but David & the kids had a GREAT time with you guy!!  And thanks to Kristi for the amazing seats on Thursday--the seats were amazing!  It was hot & we didn't win either game- but lots of fun to go.

 Silly!
Stephen loves to walk around and quote Princess Bride by saying, "anybody want a peanut?"
 Such a pretty smile!
Stephen had so much fun playing with Miss Makena.

 Getting so big!

 So tired...
 and so cute!

Too bad David forgot the camera for the other game since they were up so close- but I am sure the night ended a lot like this:o)
