Spring Break Fun

We thought we might go out of town for spring break but decided to save money and time off for David and we stayed home instead. We had a lot of fun around here. When Daddy had to work we had a great time doing lots of projects, playing with cousins, and spending a lot of time at the park or on the trampoline enjoying the beautiful weather. We enjoyed sleeping in some, watching movies together, and eating out more than we have lately. Really we just enjoyed getting more time to spend all together.

We got a new fire pit for the backyard at Cabella's and Natalie picked out her favorite plane Jane vanilla fudge. We roasted hot dogs and made salsa with friends while the kids had a great time playing together. Aren't these guys cute?

And these two friends are cuter than cute together. They are one day apart and it is so fun to listen to them talk together. As we enjoyed the fire, Stephen came up with a new phrase, "holy smoke," very appropriate. I love this age and the funny things they say.

After smores and hotdogs with friends, we enjoyed making having a campout in the backyard. We decided it would be fun to sleep on the trampoline. Natalie had to get thermals on and we cuddled the kids up close to us. The low got down to 62, so it wasn't bad. We enjoyed spending family time together out by the fire- talking, relaxing, and keeping warm.

This is one of my favorites. So sweet. Stephen actually slept all snuggled in a "scooby cave" next to Daddy. Stephen has long been a Mama's boy and it is fun to see him loving his Daddy so much.

LOVE this picture. We had such a good time sleeping out and it was so fun to wake up and have snuggle time and enjoy a leisure morning.

After we got up we went to Six Flags for the first time this season. It was SUPER crowded and warmer than it has been. We ended up only spending four hours but it was fun. Waiting 50 minutes in line for each ride wasn't worth it and some of our favorites were closed. Stephen was so cute, right away he requested the "hot air balloon ride." He went on the big dropping parachute for his first time in the fall and I thought it was so cute that he remembered it and was requesting it. It was one of the rides that was closed, but we went on batman and that made him happy.

A few months ago, I finally pryed Natalie's 'six flags outfit' out of her drawer. The shorts were MUCH too short and I finally convinced her of that. It was her favorite outfit of all time. Funny, it was purchased because of a hard situation but she has been in love with it since. So we decided we would let her pick a new six flags shirt to wear. The little guy was asleep so Natalie picked one for him.

I wasn't sure he would like the shirt Natalie got him, but I guess siblings know more than parents sometimes. He was HEAD OVER HEALS in LOVE with his shirt. He didn't want to take it off for two days.

Random Cute Spring Break Pics

The bucket is because she was feeling sick from her reflux. Luckily some extra zantac took care of the problem and we were able to go to six flags. She wasn't sure she would be ok to go for a few minutes and was feeling sad. Maybe that is why Brother HAD to give her a kiss...

Our last day of spring break we came home from church and my bird Kramer was dead in the bottom of her cage. It was unexpected and we hadn't notices anything weird with her. I felt a lot sadder than I thought and guilty. I think I have been tired of the noise and mess for a while. We got Kramer in Feb 2000 so we have had her for a long time and she LOVES me like you can't believe. She coos and almost goes into a trance when I pet her-she is so in love. She talks but she also screams and that was the annoying part. I guess she just died of old age, but I thought she would live a lot longer. Online it says they can live 25 years but often live much shorter in captivity. She used to lay cute little blue eggs and stopped 2-3 years ago, so maybe that was bid menopause. I guess it makes sense that it was old age. David buried her for me--it was for me and not the kids. But they wanted to help and had some very interesting things to say about it. They were sad too, even Natalie who is scared of Kramer.
