Barefoot Day

We spent some of the afternoon at a new park. It was a beautiful day and the kids loved the ducks and pigeons all over the place. Ever since she was a baby, Natalie has loved to chase birds, she thinks it is so funny when they fly away.

Natalie almost never goes barefoot, but she spent most of the time at this park running around barefoot. It reminded me of my childhood. There is something so sweet and carefree about being barefoot (once you get over the germ factor:)

Stephen loves picking flowers lately. He tries to pick every single one he sees. Usually they are just weedy flowers, but he is SO proud of them. He gives some to me and a LOT to his Natalie. He is soooo sweet. I'm not sure where he learned that you give flowers to girls, but he seems to know it. A few weeks ago he served as my protector and told a man, "hey guy- no touch my Mommy" when a stranger at a restraunt patted me on the shoulder. Somehow he knows how to be a protector too.

The Colonel's footprint in the sand. So precious.
This shot foreshadows later in the afternoon. She went barefoot that evening too, but that time it was because she got sick all over her shoes. Not quite as carefree and precious!
